Caleb @ 7 month

Weight: 9kg
Length: 72cm
Brought Caleb for his last jab for his 1st year. The brave boy didn't even twitch when the doc injected the jab.

Caleb is enjoying his solid food for the last 1 month. Trying out new foos is an exciting task. Caleb will always frown at the taste of new food but after a while, you then can tell whether he loves or hates them. If he dislike the food you are feeding, he will bend his head so low that you have to lift his head up to feed him. And if you continue feeding him, he will start swinging his hands in protest.

He is also very playful and loves to be tickled and cuddled. This morning, as he was playing with his rattles, I remembered the very first time we were trying to get him to hold his rattle properly abt 3 months ago. Indeed he had grown over the last 3 months!

A new creation...

On Sep 13, I came back from a biz trip from US and went for a checkup confirming that I was pregnant. After that, I made my first appointment with Dr Lisa Chin to check on the foetus development @ week 10. Here are some scans of Caleb before he was born.

Caleb @ 11 weeks old

There was never a chance to see Caleb's face as he is always facing downwards. Maybe he wanted to leave us guessing how he will look like. And that's the excitement Gabriel and I have as we awaits for the day he was born.

At the same time which I found out about Caleb, our good friend Ian & Ivy also found out that they are having a child (Ranen). Our expected due date is about 5 days apart. Thank God for a great companion during the 9 months, where we could share our notes and experiences. Though we went thru different experiences, we could understand each other and share the joy as we awaits for the birth of our sons. Coincidentally, Caleb & Ranen were borned on the same day, @ the same hospital, by the same gynae, just 50 mins apart (Ranen came 1st @ 3pm)

Caleb Birth Day

Jul 13 (Sun)- It was 2 days from the expected due date. Gabriel & I were counting days to see Caleb in person. That morning, there was slight bleeding but I didn't think much about it. I met Ivy in church and we excitedly talked about our unborned sons. We were joking about the possiblity of them being borned on the same day
Jul 14 (Mon)- I didn't report to work as the bleeding increases. I called the gynae's clinic and they advise me to go in for a checkup @ 12pm. I stayed at home to clear some last minute work, in case...

@ 1pm, Dr Lisa Chin checked me and confirmed that I was ready for labour.

The beginning of Caleb's Blog

This blog is started for Caleb Tham Kai Le. I hope that his growing up will be recorded through this journal and when he grow up one day and read the blogs, he can know how God has blessed him, his life and his family thru him.

Why JOY?

Caleb's Chinese name is Tham Kai Le (谭凯乐). Caleb is the first born to both the Tham and Tay family and he has indeed brought much joy to everyone in the family. Joy is different from happiness. Joy is existent no matter what circumstances we are in. So no matter if he is mischievous & naughty or obedient and good, he will still be a joy to us. And here (this blog) will be the testimony of them. Hopefully, he will grow up and bring joy to others too.
